Larry Tobin, a graduate of Cornell University, is the founder of Jack of Sports. A father of four, Larry has a deep love for sports, having played a variety of them growing up and even achieving a professional hockey career in Sweden. He believes in exposing children to a range of sports, with an emphasis on participation over competition. This philosophy fosters the development of important skills and helps children build friendships, promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for years to come.
Larry founded Jack of Sports after seeing the flaws in many youth sports programs—high costs, limited access, and lackluster quality. His solution was to offer high-quality, affordable swim and multi-sport instruction that is inclusive for all children, regardless of financial background. To help make the program accessible, parents are encouraged to spread the word. At Jack of Sports, every child is treated equally, with a focus on skill development and motivating drills.
Do you dream of your child becoming a professional athlete? Even if the answer is no, it’s important to note that most professional athletes excel in multiple sports. Jack of Sports promotes a multi-sport model to keep kids excited and avoid burnout. Through our approach, children can develop a variety of skills and make an informed decision later on if they wish to specialize in a single sport.
At Jack of Sports, kids come from a wide range of backgrounds, and everyone is treated equally in every sport. Whether it’s on the field or in the pool, we create an inclusive environment where children learn the values of teamwork and respect, while also developing friendships with kids from diverse cultures.
Our sports lessons are designed to be fast-paced, exciting, and full of creativity. We break the training down into stations with focused skill-building drills, ensuring that each child has an opportunity to learn and grow. Small games encourage teamwork, and no child is left behind—everyone participates and benefits from the experience.
Jack of Sports is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for both kids and parents. We know mistakes happen, and we welcome feedback to improve. If something goes wrong, we make it right and ensure families continue to feel valued. Our goal is to leave kids and parents excited to return, knowing they had an enriching experience.
